“Be Mine Always,” the fourth annual exhibition of photographs and poetry celebrating love, opens on
Saturday, January 28, 2012 with a reception from 2 – 4 p.m.
at Alliance Gallery

This year, “Be Mine Always” has a mostly romantic focus, showcase poetry and photography expressing the various stages of romance, marriage, and lasting love. As in other years, the poetry will be transformed and displayed as a “poem object,” a physical rendition of the poem’s central image or images. These “poem objects,” along with the written poem, will be displayed in the gallery, mingled with photographs on the romantic theme of love. This year exhibition includes new features including a magnetic poetry wall and a “Kissing Glass” window installation.
Mary Greene of the River Reporter and the Upper Delaware Writers Collective curated the poetry sections and Alliance Gallery director Rocky Pinciotti curated the photographs. Over the past four years these two curators have perfected this unique mixed-media cross-platform exhibition.
“I believe the love of this exhibition warms the heart in the cold winter months, and the afterglow brings us right through to Valentines Day,” says Pinciotti.
“All you need is love,” says Greene, “especially when the wind is howling and the snow is blowing. The brightness and fun of ‘Be Mine’ is becoming a mid-winter tradition.”
The “Be Mine” opening reception has become the place to be in January in Sullivan County. Come by to enjoy the exhibit, talk directly with the photographers, and listen to the poets reading their poems. At this year’s opening reception, singer Sharon Paige will perform torch songs accompanied by pianist Bob Lohr.

This exhibit, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, the Arts Council for Sullivan County, NY. “Be Mine” runs throughout the Valentine’s Day season, closing on Saturday, February 18.
